Patriots Pantry

PATRIOTS PANTRY - STOP HUNGER INITIATIVE

LFAF Pledge / Purpose / Goal

HUNGER - A weakened condition brought about by prolonged lack of food.

FOOD INSECURITY - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life.

Ladies for America First is a diverse group which understands that individuals and families, for many different reasons, find themselves in need of assistance as it relates to purchasing and obtaining meals. Not easy for many to accept help, we can empathize.  This initiative, as is Child Trafficking, is one that is near to our hearts.  We hope this initiative, Patriots Pantry, will not only help direct those who can volunteer time or donate money / food items to a nearby food pantry, but to also aid those in need - where to go for meal assistance with dignity.  We are ready to be a part of the solution in ending hunger in New Jersey... This is our pledge.

Our purpose and goal through this initiative is to:

  • Assist food pantries in need - with food items and/or monetary donations;
  • Encourage & direct volunteers to a nearby food pantry or one within their NJ County;
  • Direct those in need where to possibly go for meal assistance with dignity;
  • Be a part of the solution in ending hunger in New Jersey!

Please Contact Us and let us know you wish to join in this effort, and to also become a valued member of Ladies for America First.  We have room for you!!!

The Pantries

Let's assist the pantries so they may continue to assist others!

Below we have listed our current pantry assistance as well as a food pantry in each one of our great NJ Counties.  Though these may change from time to time (for various reasons), we are committed to helping these organizations / pantries in keeping their food shelves stocked.

To obtain this objective, Ladies for America First will not only conduct fundraising affairs throughout the year, we will also highlight this initiative at/during our other political and community events.  Keep an eye out for these below or on our Events Page.

EVENT INFO:

Ladies for America First, Inc. is excited to launch its semi-annual Patriots Pantry Food Drive, and this time, we’re proud to team up with Vetwork to support the veterans of Ocean County, New Jersey. Vetwork, a nonprofit founded by veterans over 40 years ago, has been dedicated to serving local veterans and their families. Did you know that Ocean County has the largest veteran population of any county in New Jersey? Our veterans deserve our help, and together, we make a real difference!

Our mission continues to provide essential food and personal items to New Jersey’s veterans, and we need your support to reach our goal. Our last drive, which benefited veterans at the Lyons VA Hospital, was a tremendous success, delivering over 3,000 pounds of food and personal items and more than $3,000 in gift cards. Together, we’ve already made a powerful impact — now, let’s break that record and show our veterans just how much we care!

100% of your donations — whether food, gift cards, or monetary contributions — will go directly to our veterans. Every item you donate makes a meaningful difference.

You can drop off your donations directly at the Vetwork Food Pantry located at: 102 Station Drive, Forked River, NJ 08731 Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

I AM HUNGER IN AMERICA

“For many people, hunger in America is invisible. They don’t know what it looks like or feels like. We wanted to find a unique way to tell people’s stories and give them a voice, so that more people understand what happens every day in America,” said Catherine Davis, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Feeding America. “This PSA campaign challenges people to see hunger in a different way by creating a lifelike portrait that represents the millions of real people who experience hunger.”   READ MORE . FEEDING AMERICA

Did You Know?

Hunger - According to the USDA, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, in the United States are food insecure.

In New Jersey - According to CFBNJ, about 800,000 people face hunger every day. Approximately 200,000 of them are children. When they don’t have enough food to eat, they can suffer direct and dramatic effects on their physical development and mental well-being.

  • 9% of New Jerseyans are food insecure
  • 10% of New Jersey children are food insecure

Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and visit their local food banks and other food programs for extra support.

HUNGER IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK - Children and adults face hunger in every community across the country. Your neighbor, child’s classmate or even coworker may be struggling to get enough to eat.
